An Odor Removal Project for Municipal Sludge Treatment in Shaanxi Province
Process selection
Project Details
Process Solution:
Two-Stage Chemical Scrubbing + Biofilter + Activated Carbon Adsorption
Project Details:
Total Designed Odor Treatment Capacity: 250,000 m³/h.
Project Overview:
This project is for a newly constructed sludge treatment and disposal plant with a treatment capacity of 600 tons/day (based on 80% moisture content). It serves the sludge treatment and disposal needs of 23 sewage treatment plants in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. This is the first sludge disposal project in mainland China to use a two-stage drying and pyrolysis gasification process, setting a benchmark for sludge disposal nationwide and providing lasting “green energy” for the construction of a “waste-free city.”
Treatment Solution:
The project uses a “biological deodorization” process to treat odors in Sludge Drying Area-1, Sludge Drying Area-3, and the pyrolysis gasification area. Sludge Drying Area-2 uses a “water scrubbing + acid scrubbing + alkali scrubbing + alkali scrubbing/oxidation scrubbing” process. An ionized air delivery system is employed in areas where personnel frequently work or stay, such as the control room, visitor pathways, and corridors. A total of five deodorization systems are installed to collect odors from the above-mentioned sources and direct them to deodorization units for treatment, ensuring that the treated air is discharged in compliance with standards.
